The firm starts 2022 with the great news that Nat Young, commercial lawyer specialising in insolvency in the Dispute Resolution team, has been promoted to Partner.

Nat started his career in legal practice at just 16 years old, working his way up to qualify as a legal executive in 2005. He then obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Legal Practice before qualifying as a solicitor in 2008. Nat has also obtained Higher Rights of Audience and is perfectly at home litigating at all court levels.

Nat’s wealth of expertise has been recognised by the leading directory, The Legal 500, where he is ranked as a Rising Star. The directory describes him as “a tremendous litigator. You always know that he has thoroughly taken a grip of the case and the lay clients are in very safe hands”.

Having worked for businesses in Hertfordshire for two decades, Nat is responsible for Longmores’ insolvency practice area. He works with insolvency practitioners, business owners and other stakeholders to advise on insolvency law and the options available for struggling businesses.

Nat also has experience handling complex and high-profile disputes for a broad range of clients, from advising SMEs and start-ups to businesses and individuals based overseas, including China, the EU, Switzerland and the US. Nat has also been involved in reported cases where the judgement has set a precedent for the future on matters involving statutory demands, directors’ duties, and costs budgeting in defamation cases.

Most recently, Nat acted for the successful claimant in the Ring Doorbell case between two neighbours and was subsequently interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours on 15th December 2021 about the legal issues of home surveillance devices.

Commenting on his promotion, Nat said “it is an honour to join the partnership at Longmores and I look forward to continuing to help clients as they navigate their way through uncertain times”.

John Wiblin, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution also congratulated Nat on his promotion by saying: “Nat is an experienced, heavyweight litigator and I am delighted that he will be leading Longmores’ Dispute Resolution team with me in future”.
