Longmores new addition to our Property Litigation team
Longmores are pleased to announce a new addition to their property litigation team.
Polja Atkins is a property litigator and leasehold enfranchisement specialist. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of property disputes and has joined Longmores after a lengthy period of working for one of the largest regional law firms in Hertfordshire where she acted for both landlords and tenants specialising in lease extensions and collective enfranchisement.
In her collective enfranchisement experience practice, Polja has helped leaseholders across the regionpurchase the freehold of their building, thereby giving them control and increasing the value of their flats. She has also acted for leaseholders in extending the leases of their flats or buying the freehold of their houses pursuant to the statutory provisions.
Polja acted for one of the biggest landlords in the south east running a portfolio of lease extensions and negotiating the interests of her client. She has acted for landlords across the Beds, Herts and Bucks area in lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, right to manage and tenants’ rights of first refusal work. Polja is known and highly valued by her clients for finding minute errors in her opponent’s claim in order to defeat it.
Polja also set up the in-house litigation department’s online issuing system for the collection of service charge arrears at Peverel Group (now First Port), one the country’s largest managing agents, where she also had a wide-ranging property litigation caseload.
Polja’s experience extends to forfeiture work for breweries such as Enterprise Inns, Admiral Taverns and Heineken Plc, mortgage re-possessions for well-known banks and conducting legal research for an NGO in connection with aid projects.
Polja is passionate about communicating with her clients, understanding their aims, and keeping them fully apprised at all times of the development of their case. Longmores are pleased to welcome her to the team.
