Long COVID – legal advice for businesses

  • This event has passed.

About the event

Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Better Business for All (BBfA) at Hertfordshire County Council and Longmores Solicitors to host a webinar explaining the legal duties of employers when it comes to staff suffering with Long Covid.

Long term sickness is one of the hardest employee issues to manage, and whilst there is still plenty to learn about the symptoms and treatment of Long Covid, there are all sorts of banana skins to be avoided by employers.

Richard Gvero and Miranda Mulligan will explain how employers should manage the situation from a legal duties point of view.  They will summarise the legislation you need to be aware of, the Equality Act and how to avoid claims in the future.  They will also explain how you manage replacement staff for anybody off work with long term illness, and explain how the law works in reality with a recent case study.

Sam Hudson from Better Business for All (BBfA) at Hertfordshire County Council will recap the learnings from the Long Covid – support for employers and businesses webinar and remind businesses what support is available for them.

After the presentation there will be a Q&A when delegates are invited to ask their questions.  You can also submit a question in advance when booking your place, or post a question in the chat during the webinar.
