Rina Sond is a Company Commercial Partner and heads the Commercial and IP team at Longmores Solicitors. She has over 18 years’ experience in dealing with a variety of commercial contracts, intellectual property and brand protection issues.
Rina also has specialist experience in assisting her clients with protecting, managing and exploiting their IP assets to their full commercial advantagethrough licensing, university spin-outs and other arrangements. She has acted for a wide range of clients from various industry sectors, including retail, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, IT and service industries.
Rina is an Allied Member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, and is a recognised lawyer in the Legal 500 directory.
Anand Varu heads the IP, Legal and Operations functions for it luggage Limited – a global company with revenues ~USD100M and around 200 employees.
He is an IP strategist and is experienced in dealing with global patent portfolios, conducting due diligence in M&A and pre-action litigation procedures, to name a few.Anand also brings an in-depth knowledge of unique challenges faced by companies in the Far East where he has led the formation of sino-foreign joint ventures, set up representative offices, managed supplier dispute resolutions and tackled various anti-counterfeiting activities.
Anand joined the profession in 2007, where he qualified in private practice as a patent attorney (telecoms, software, electronics) before then moving in-house with Caterpillar UK Ltd where he managed international patent strategies and portfolios of several business units across Europe.He thereafter joined it luggage as Head of IP in early 2017 before being rapidly promoted to his present role as Director.Anand is also a visiting lecturer in IP Management as well as a patent examiner for the UK patent examinations.
