Tracey heads up our Divorce and Family Law team and has over 30 years’ experience in family law.

Whether handling disagreements over the division of finances or helping you sort out co-parenting arrangements for your children, Tracey knows just how stressful and difficult relationship breakdown can be. She genuinely cares about her clients and her focus is always on you and getting you through this experience as swiftly and painlessly as possible.

With Tracey, not only do you get a fierce and pragmatic lawyer, you also get a person who is sensitive to your needs and completely non-judgmental. She will listen closely to your concerns, tailor a personal approach and consistently strive to achieve the best possible outcome for you.

She adopts a common sense, no nonsense approach and makes every effort to try and resolve matters without the need for costly and stressful litigation. However, if a case cannot be settled, she will use her skill and fight your case to achieve the best possible outcome.

Career

Prior to joining Longmores, Tracey spent 12 years working in central London where she handled complex financial cases for clients from all walks of life, including high profile individuals. Whilst in London, Tracey established a practice for dealing with high value financial cases, with an asset base of up to £100 million, including those with complex tax, trust and jurisdictional issues.

Before this, Tracey spent 13 years working for two local law firms dealing with a range of financial and children cases. Having grown up in Hertfordshire, Tracey has a strong connection to the local area and loves being able to help members of the local community through her work, as well as those further afield.

Expertise

Tracey helps people unravel the legal, financial and practical ties when a relationship breaks down. This often involves dealing with complex financial matters. Tracey also helps parents to settle the caring arrangements for their children, as well as any other issues that may arise in respect of their children’s upbringing.

In addition, she helps people to regularise the financial aspects of their relationship, through cohabitation agreements and pre/post nuptial agreements.

Examples of Tracey’s previous cases:

  • Negotiating a pre-nuptial agreement involving assets of over £100m.
  • Acted for a wife in relation to divorce and finances, in the backdrop of residence proceedings abroad. Secured the jurisdiction of the English court in relation to the divorce and finances. This case involved assets of around £25 million.
  • Acted for a wife in relation to divorce and finances, involving assets of around £12m, based on and offshore; including the husband’s business, properties and other cash investments.
  • Acted for a father in relation to contested children proceedings and successfully obtaining an order that the children live with both parents on an equal basis.

Tracey also has a network of other contacts, including specialist barristers, forensic accountants, financial advisors and pension actuaries, who she will involve in your case, when necessary, to provide the relevant specialist advice.
