Luke Smith
Having joined the Longmores team as a paralegal in 2025, Luke provides comprehensive support to the property litigation team on a wide range of issues, including:
- Commercial lease advice
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Property rights disputes
- Possession claims
- Co-ownership disputes
Additionally, Luke has notable expertise in handling disputes concerning management companies, with his previous legal background including multiple years working in the legal department of a property managing agent.
Luke’s approach centres on developing strong relationships with every client, using clear and open communication to find efficient and straightforward solutions. His strengths also lie in his meticulous attention to detail and legal research, using this to explore every possible avenue when resolving even the most complex disputes.
As a part of his role, Luke works closely with John Wagstaffe, Longmores Partner and Head of Property Litigation.
Career
Luke studied Law at De Montford University in Leicester, before going on to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC). He started his legal career after this in 2019, holding two paralegal roles handling property matters, including four years working with a managing agent, which offered him the perspective of working on ‘both sides’ of property litigation cases.
Personal interests
Outside of work and in his spare time, Luke enjoys focusing on fitness training and keeping active, as well as art and horticulture.
