Laura Keenan

Secretary in Commercial Property

Laura plays an important role in supporting the lawyers in the Commercial Property team, helping to keep matters progressing smoothly.

Laura spent sixteen years working in criminal law, an environment that taught her to work at pace, stay composed when priorities change, and deal confidently with whatever lands on her desk. Those qualities have served her well in the Commercial Property team, which brings its own pressures and rhythm. She made the move because property genuinely interests her: the process, the milestones and the sense of helping people through transactions that matter. This is shown in the way she works.

She is someone colleagues describe as unflappable – the kind of person who keeps things moving without needing to be chased, and who gets on quietly with whatever needs doing. She picks up new tasks quickly, asks the right questions, and takes care to do things properly the first time.

Career

Laura began her legal career in 2008 within a criminal law firm, where she developed a solid grounding in legal processes and gained experience working in a busy, demanding environment. She went on to spend a further ten years at another criminal law firm, continuing to build her skills and broaden her experience.

She joined Longmores in March 2024 as a Legal Secretary, supporting teams across the firm and gaining exposure to a wide range of practice areas. This experience strengthened her adaptability and gave her a broad understanding of different legal processes.

Laura now works as a Legal Secretary in the Commercial Property team, where she applies this experience to provide focused, effective support. Her background across different areas of law enables her to transition seamlessly into the role and contribute confidently within a busy department.

She values the supportive and collaborative culture at Longmores, where colleagues work closely together and are always willing to help – and she makes the most of the social side too, from white water rafting and theatre trips to pottery painting.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Laura enjoys staying active and making the most of the outdoors. She is a keen cyclist, particularly enjoying off-road and mountain biking, and also enjoys walking and skiing in the French Alps. She regularly attends boxing fitness classes and likes to unwind with a good book.
