Janice Doughty

Janice supports fee earners across a wide range of property transactions. She brings a calm, practical approach to her work, combined with a naturally organised way of thinking that helps keep things running smoothly, even when workloads are busy.

She is particularly valued for her responsiveness and reliability. Janice is quick to pick things up, proactive in keeping work moving, and consistent in making sure nothing is overlooked. Her approachable manner also helps to build trust with clients, who appreciate having someone who communicates clearly and keeps them updated throughout the process.

Janice also has strong experience in the day-to-day processes involved in conveyancing transactions. Her work includes preparing documents,  managing searches to liaising with agents and third parties, helping matters at each stage of the transaction.

What Janice enjoys most about her role is the people side of conveyancing. She takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances and requirements, and finds it rewarding to play a part in helping them move forward at an important stage in their lives.

Career

Janice has over 20 years’ experience in the legal sector. Before joining Longmores in 2017, she worked for 11 years as a paralegal for a sole practitioner, supporting a wide range of legal matters and developing broad experience across different areas of practice.

Earlier in her career, she also gain experience at a law firm in London. Since joining Longmores, she has focused on residential conveyancing and has become a well-established and valued member of the team.

She values the friendly and supportive atmosphere at the firm, where colleagues are approachable and there is a genuine sense that people look out for one another.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Janice enjoys keeping active and making the most of time outdoors. She is a long-standing member of a women’s fitness club, where she takes part in circuit training and boxing, and enjoys the sense of routine and energy it brings.

She also spends time exploring the Hertfordshire countryside on walks with her Jack Russell, Dough, who is a regular companion on her weekend adventures.
