Alison Mayin

Alison plays a central role in supporting the team across Wills, probate, trust administration and inheritance tax planning. She brings a calm, organised presence to a department that supports people during some of the most personal and often difficult moments in their lives.

Alison is the kind of person a team genuinely relies on. She is efficient and flexible, keeps complex diaries, correspondence and client files running smoothly, and when the pace shifts, she adapts with ease, stepping in to cover the switchboard whenever needed.

Whether someone is coming in to sign a Will or to deal with the affairs of someone they have lost, she is frequently the first face they see, and she takes that responsibility seriously. Her attentive, reassuring manner makes a real difference to the experience of clients navigating what can be an emotional and unfamiliar process.

She has a natural ability to anticipate what needs doing before being asked, and fee earners know that things will be handled with care and attention.

Career

Alison brings over 20 years’ experience as a legal secretary, having worked in London across a wide range of practice areas, including family, corporate, company and residential conveyancing, before finding her natural home in private client work. She has been with Longmores for over 14 years and is a warmly regarded member of the team.

She also compiles Longmores’ Legal 500 submission each year, a responsibility she particularly enjoys, and supports the firm’s ‘Keep it in the Family’ seminars, which provide accessible guidance on key aspects of later life planning.

Community

She supports Cancer Research through organised walks and fundraising initiatives, regularly taking part in events that raise both awareness and vital funds for the charity.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Alison leads an active lifestyle. She travels across the country, from Bristol to Brighton to Liverpool, to take part in Fight Club, a rave workout combining boxing, kickboxing and dance.

She enjoys fitness retreats in Portugal and makes the most of living by the sea in Clacton, where she swims, and takes walks along the beach with her grandchildren. Alongside this, she enjoys quieter pursuits such as tapestry work and reading.
