Longmores Charitable Foundation supports Schoolreaders with a grant to help local primary school children

The Longmores Charitable Foundation has awarded a grant to Schoolreaders to help fund a reading project in Hertfordshire primary schools giving children one to one reading support.

The Longmores Charitable Foundation fundraises to help charities in the Hertfordshire area, particularly smaller and less well-known causes that are often in greater need of financial support than many of the established national charities.  Since 2016 the firm has been fundraising through events such as their golf day, quiz and the contributions from staff through Dress Down Friday and the recent bake sale.

This November, the trustees of the Foundation have decided to make a donation to Schoolreaders.  Schoolreaders remains unique in being the only nationwide charity providing one-to-one reading support to children in primary schools at no cost to the school.  This means that every child has the opportunity for reading support irrespective of the financial situation of the school.  The grant will help towards providing 133 Hertfordshire primary school children with one-to-one reading support weekly for a whole year.

Chris Pease, a trustee of the Longmores Charitable Foundation, says “The Longmores Charitable Foundation is proud to support Schoolreaders and the many children who will benefit with one to one reading sessions around Hertfordshire”.
