Shabnam has specialised in Property Litigation since 2015, acting for both commercial and residential clients. Shabnam acts for management companies, managing agents, investors, developers, private owners, and landlords and tenants. She has a strong focus on negotiation, assisting clients with her robust approach to achieve positive outcomes quickly and cost-efficiently.

With a strong strategic mindset, Shabnam works to promptly ascertain what all involved parties wish to achieve and meticulously plans the case accordingly. This allows her to find effective solutions that match her clients’ priorities while avoiding unnecessary and costly conflict. She believes in taking a sharp, but practical approach and getting the most advantageous outcome while keeping the time and cost involved to a minimum.

Shabnam says: “Clients come to solicitors in instances where they are not able to resolve their matter independently. My aim is to step in and use my expertise to assist clients in asserting their legal rights with a quick turnaround, usually with strong emphasis on negotiation and therefore, without the need for court proceedings.”

Career

Shabnam began her legal career as a paralegal at a specialist property law firm in London in 2015 while studying Law (LLB) at the University of Hertfordshire. She graduated with First Class Honours in 2017 and immediately followed this with the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, graduating in 2018 with a Distinction.

Shabnam also completed her LLM Master of Laws at the University of Law, graduating in 2018 with a Distinction.

Shabnam joined a Tier 1 Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners ranked law firm in 2018 and was admitted as a solicitor in June 2019.

In June 2020, Shabnam changed the landscape in Housing Law with her successful High Court reported case concerning Section 188 Housing Act 1996.

Having joined Longmores in May 2022, Shabnam has quickly become an integral part of the team. Bringing her expertise to our clients, she provides a first-class service for even the most complex property law matters.

Shabnam is a member of the Property Litigation Association (PLA), an organisation of legal professionals who specialise in all aspects of property litigation.

Personal interests

Outside work, Shabnam regularly gives back to the community. This includes volunteering with Citizens Advice Bureau and taking part in the London Legal Walk to raise money for charity. Additionally, she is involved in mentoring schemes with students who are entering the legal profession and has a particular interest in providing guidance by way of private tuition to law students, helping them to get started with their careers.

Shabnam is also a home and interior design blogger, avid gym goer (with a passion for squash) and keen traveller.
