Chris Pease
As Joint Senior Partner, Chris plays a critical role in guiding the overall direction of the firm and ensuring clients always experience outstanding best service.
With retirement on the horizon for 2026, Chris has handed over the reins of the conveyancing team to Karen Fletcher whilst he oversees some major projects that will be part of the legacy he leaves the firm. Chris’ passion to embrace change and leave Longmores future-proofed for the next generation includes the introduction of an Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) strategy and committee with an objective to get to net zero, and a programme of developments to continuously improve the experience for clients and employees across digital solutions, culture and values.
Career
Chris has spent over 30 years advising individuals and investors in all aspects of residential conveyancing and is one of the reasons why Longmores has maintained such an excellent reputation for residential property services.
Chris studied Law (LLB) at the University of Southampton before starting his legal career as an Articled Clerk at a law firm in Cambridge in 1984. Two years later, Chris qualified as a Solicitor and began specialising in general property matters.
Chris joined Longmores in 1997 and has been a key part of the firm ever since. He became a Partner and Head of Residential Conveyancing in 2001, then Joint Senior Partner in 2017 while continuing to lead the Residential Conveyancing team.
As one of the longest serving and most experienced members of the Longmores team, Chris provides essential leadership both to his team and across the firm.

Community
Following the tradition of many of Longmores former partners, Chris is very active in his local community, being a trustee of the Hertfordshire Festival of Music and a trustee of Hertford Museum. He was also Deputy Under Sheriff of Hertfordshire from 2020 until 2023.

Chris is a member of the Law Society Property and the Law Management sections.
The Longmores Residential Conveyancing team that he led for 25 years are members of the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

Personal interests
Chris is a huge fan of classical music which he will be indulging in during his retirement as well as continuing with his festival and museum trusteeships. With the free time he hopes to have, he might even train for a half marathon.
